International List of Members

This membership list may be viewed as a petition and a statement of common purpose.

We, the members of the Corded Club, attest to the following:

- It is better not to own or use wireless technology

- Doing so has a negative impact on our lives overall

The list is further divided below into full members and honorary members.

Full members are those who also proudly DO NOT OWN A MOBILE/CELL OR CORDLESS PHONE AT ALL and who also avoid wireless technology in their own homes and offices wherever such a decision lies under their own voluntary control (e.g. such as replacing wi-fi routers with corded alternatives). It is permissable to be a full member and use wireless technology only in those locations where it is beyond individual control, such as in a workplace where this decision is made by others. All that is expected of our full members is that they won't have allowed themselves to participate actively in the use of wireless radiation, especially where it is for everyday domestic uses, and that in other cases they will have at least done their best to have their say rather than allowing themselves to become passive victims of the technology (e.g. perhaps it is a spouse or a parent who has installed wi-fi, but this doesn't stop you trying to influence them otherwise, even if you do not ultimately prevail).

Honorary members are those who agree with the principles of the Corded Club but, for one reason or another, have not yet reached the point where they can honestly say, "I do not own a mobile/cell or cordless phone" and "I don't use Wi-Fi or other wireless radiation in areas of my everyday life where it is under my control." If this applies to you, we still welcome your membership on account of your shared aspirations, but it will be as an honorary member rather than a full member.

Membership is free at the current time. You can join the club quickly and easily by going here.

Current International List of Full Members (A-Z by surname):

Doyon, P. R., in Chiang Rai, Thailand. Date of membership: 18th August 2009. Occupation: Teacher. Comment: "Cell phones are miniature Weapons of Mass Destruction. It is selfish and immoral to own one."

Kreger, C., in Galway, Ireland. Date of membership: 26th July 2009. Occupation: FCT practitioner and teacher. Comment: "I can feel the effects of the radiation from a cell phone in use at a distance of 6 feet - a particular area on the left side of my head tingles and I feel extremely agitated. I eschew travelling on long-distance buses and use the train (where I can move seats) ever since I was on a bus with simultaneous cell phone usage going on in front of me, beside me and in back of me. It was all I could do to stop myself from getting off the bus in the middle of nowhere as the bus was full and it wasn't possible to change seats. They are definitely a major bane of my existence and make it very difficult to be out among the general public. I will toast their demise with great fervour and palpable relief."

Rees, S., in Galway, Ireland. Date of membership: 26th July 2009. Occupation: FCT practitioner and teacher. Comment: "Looking forward to the day our streets and homes will be safe from wireless radiation again, so we can put an end to all the suffering it causes people! As well as the untold harm inflicted by users on those others, like us, who are non-users, but who must suffer just like those who have died of diseases caused by second-hand smoking... Why should some of us die of terrible diseases in the future just because there are people who are too lazy to wait and use a regular landline phone like in the old days? Why should other people be putting my life at risk? The proliferation of mobile and cordless phone usage, and of mobile phone towers, must be severely limited or stopped immediately. To say nothing of the endless meaningless chatter that's frying people's brains: "Hello, I'm walking down Shop Street..." "I'm in Tesco's..." "I'm on the bus, near Cooke's Corner..." "I'm in the car..." "I'm..." "I'm..." "I'm here, I exist, I'm important..." "I must be always contactable, to remind me how important I am..." "Me me me me...!" Oops, not for much longer, I have brain cancer... No, thank you very much, give me a saner, wiser society - one without the current proliferation of wireless technology! But most importantly, there are too many people complaining about mobile phone TOWERS when they themselves are supporting the towers by owning a mobile phone! I say that if you OWN a mobile phone, then this is your VOTE in favour of more towers and more wireless radiation in our societies. I've never owned a mobile phone and it doesn't bother me, nor did it bother billions of human beings who lived perfectly well before the wireless age! ~So when people tell me that they "need" a mobile phone, I reflect that "need" is a relative entity indeed... if I had no food on my table, I might say I "needed" food, and that would be an authentic need... in my observation, mobile phone ownership is almost never a need, but in most cases appears to be more like an unhealthy addiction. I say: think right, act right, and abstain from supporting an industry which is insidiously destroying our future together on this planet. I hope this club can be a quiet revolution of non-ownership, founded at a time when hardly anyone can say they don't own a mobile phone - but near to the turning of the tide."
